Co-ownership Opportunities

Occasionally, we can assist a new fancier by co-owning a show puppy or mature breeding female.  This gives you an opportunity to be in the conformation ring (showing to a judge that knows the breed standard and comparing your dog with the breed standard) but still have the flexibility to show in performance events (obedience, agility, etc). 

The dogs would live in your homes and be your sole responsibility but we would stay on as a co-owner to assist you in your endeavour to have a dog with a championship and/or performance title.  As well, we would be available to advise you on all health check requirements and choosing a stud for your girl prior to any breeding. 

 Co-owing one of our boys is basically the same, however, if this dog is worthy of standing at stud there may be other breeders who would like him to stand at stud for their females. This would be an option only and together we would work through the details.

There will never be a reason for a dog to be bred without health clearances.  At Snowstar Kennels we are proud of our breeding accomplishments ...we are only a small hobby breeder but in every litter we strive for the best in breed standard, health and temperament.

We must all remember that just because he/she has a Championship Title and all health clearances not all dogs should be bred.  You will see some breeders basing their breeding program on this - we are striving for betterment of the breed.

For example, a drippy soft incorrect coat is a reason not to breed or an off-bite, poor pigment, etc ... but temperament is the major reason not to breed.  Samoyeds are first and foremost pack animals and must be able to live in harmony.

We are very negotiable and have worked with many Sam lovers in this regard.  Please contact us if you are thinking of entering into a co-ownership agreement. 

Retired Dogs

There are also times we can offer some retired show dogs to good homes.

Why an older dog?  They are house trained, they are leash trained, they are crate trained, they are travel trained ... and they make an incredible couch potato and best friend.
